Skilled nursing facilities Berkley East, Berkeley West, and Ocean Pointe hosted an event at the Loews Hotel in Santa Monica in celebration of their employees, partners, and providers.
On February 26, over 300 guests gathered together at the Loews Hotel in Santa Monica for a celebration hosted by Berkley East Healthcare Center, Berkley West Healthcare Center, and Ocean Pointe Healthcare Center.
The party, initially planned for the 2021 holidays but postponed due to a rise in COVID cases, was held in honor of the nursing facilities’ frontline healthcare workers, from their maintenance crews and nursing staff to their therapy teams. Physicians and case managers from nearby hospitals – including Providence Saint John’s Health Center, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and California Rehab Institute – were also in attendance and celebrated.
As guests entered the venue, they were greeted with a live jazz band, an assortment of wine and beverages, and a photo booth. For dinner, the guests chose from chicken, fish, or a vegetarian dish, and for dessert, they helped themselves to a variety of sweets and a coffee/cappuccino bar.
The highlight of the night was the award ceremony: Each facility recognized 12 employees for every month in 2021 and an employee of the year. Every nominee was given a plaque with their headshot, name, and award.
“We were ecstatic to recognize our honorable employees who have sacrificed so much for the elderly community,” said Roxanne Bernier, marketing director at Berkley East. “We appreciate their commitment to providing safe, high-quality care to each resident.”
The night ended with dancing, a DJ, and karaoke. Days following the event, the facilities were still receiving thank-you texts from their guests. “The party was an amazing opportunity to have face-to-face interaction with our partners and providers,” said Bernier. “We are so grateful we were able to come together to enjoy the friendships we have made and celebrate the healthcare industry.”
